Capital Markets Prime Services is one of the premier providers to the hedge fund community. A commitment to excellence drives continuous improvements in the Firm’s product, services and technologies. The Capital Markets Prime Services business is aligned across three core disciplines: Financing, Advice and Servicing.
Product Control Role and Responsibilities:
The Equity Synthetics Product Control group is responsible for analysis and control of the Synthetics business. The primary objectives of the Product Controller are to maintain a strong control framework around the business as well as to partner with the business to help drive economic business decisions.
Responsibilities include:
• Analysis of key revenue drivers within the Synthetics business.
• Development of performance metrics to measure the growth of the business and relative performance to industry peers.
• Strong partnership with business in further developing MIS around the business to help drive informed business decisions.
• Ongoing responsibility of projecting and optimizing the balance sheet to support the growth of the Synthetics business.
• Work with accounting policy group to ensure proper accounting balance sheet treatment for trading strategies/structures.
• Responsible for managing both internal and external audit requests.
• Continuously work towards increasing scalability through process improvement and infrastructure development.
• Provide commentary and analysis for the quarterly analyst call
• Work with regions to ensure global consistency and implementation of best practices globally.
• Heavy interaction with the traders in the Synthetics business.
• Help drive the strategic development of p/l infrastructure to support growing product platform.
Requirements include:
• Industry experience of 8-10+ years minimum, prefer prior experience in supporting Synthetics or Derivatives business
• Ability to operate independently and drive mandates to completion.
• Strong management skills
• Ability to work with senior management both within Finance and within the Prime Services business.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Accounting background preferred.
