KPMG LLP provides audit, tax and advisory services to a broad range of clients. We are currently seeking a Tax Manager to join us in our Honolulu office.
The Honolulu tax practice boasts a large Financial Services practice that provides U.S. and International tax services to a variety of financial services clients including depository institutions, mortgage companies, and specialty finance companies.
Responsibilities:
* Advise clients regarding corporate and multi-state tax issues
* Review complex corporate consolidated and multi-state tax returns
* FAS 109 accounting for the income tax of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and non-SEC clients
* Understand and analyze the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules affecting the taxpayer
* Manage cross-functional teams in the delivery of high class services
* Work in, and be part of, a multi-disciplinary team
* Keep up-to-date on current tax practices
* Provide industry knowledge
* Develop, train, and mentor staff
Qualifications:
* Five years of federal corporate tax experience with strong skills in reviewing 1120 corporate consolidated and multi-state tax returns with an emphasis in financial services
* Experience with investment partnerships including private equity
* In-depth experience in FAS 109
* Able to use research tools
* Excellent writing skills and analytical capabilities
* Able to provide tax planning and present options in a broad based forum
* Knowledge of corporate tax matters
* Outstanding client interaction skills
* Experience with Financial Services industry issues
* BA/BS degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university
* Masters degree from an accredited college/university in Taxation, JD, LLM, or a licensed CPA
