VMO DIRECTOR – Position Summary

The Vendor Management Office (“VMO”) is responsible for developing firmwide standards and policies, promoting best practices, oversight of vendor engagement across divisions, coordination of firmwide specialist resources (i.e., Procurement and Contracts Management, Legal, Technology, Office of Global Security, Management Controls Division) and tracking compliance with firmwide vendor-related policies across the firm.


Primary Responsibilities

We are currently looking for an experienced commercial manager to lead the Vendor Management Office on a global basis.

The responsibilities of the VMO Director will include:
• Developing firmwide vendor management related standards and policies for ratification by the firms Business Practices Committee,
• Promoting best practices in vendor management across the firm,
• Oversight of vendor engagement and management across divisions,
• Coordination of related firmwide specialist resources (i.e., Procurement and Contracts Management, Legal, Technology, Office of Global Security, Management Controls Division)
• Monitoring compliance with firmwide vendor-related policies.
• Leading the repositioning of the firm’s procurement and contract management team as a more strategically focused organization, that works with clients through both vendor engagement and vendor management and is an integral part of our spend management process.
• Effectively leveraging the firm's negotiated vendor relationships to benefit both investment and portfolio companies.

Experience / Skills

• Minimum 5+ years experience (procurement, legal, consulting or other applicable discipline)
• Deep understanding of the financial services industry, including regulatory constraints, revenue streams, and the importance of business ethics
• MBA or Master’s Degree in a related field
• Proven leadership and performance management abilities
• Successful complex project management track record
• Strong executive-level communication/presentation skills
• Ability to influence and driving change; making an impact on initiatives

• Administration and Communications oversee organizational development and communications.
• Regional Office Management oversees operations, vendors and divisional relationships in our regional office worldwide.
